Non-Delivery of Speed Post Cove

Sirs, I sent a cover to Vijayawada (AP) by Speed Post from the Malleswaram Main Post Office, Bangalore 560003 on 22/12 at 10:28 AM vide Post Office Receipt No. EK473887287IN. I was given to understand that the said cover would be delivered within 48 hours. The addressee has confirmed not having received the same till as of yesterday (26/12). On tracking its whereabouts, the result says that 'Delivery Details Not Known'. Will this cover of mine ever be delivered or, if not for whatever reasons, be returned to me?
