Irregular fines pulled out from me

I was caught by the traffic police breaking a singal near ICC tech tower, senapati bapat road, Pune. I was supposed to pay rs 100 as fine for it. But to my surprise the traffic police (Vinay Sarole) asked me to pay rs 600 . When asked why he said that a new section was introduced (sec 185 according to him) in which the fines are increased. I was unaware of it.

so asked for a proof so he dint have any supporting document.

This is a genuine problem that we face these days. we are told to pay higher fines than the actual ones. so that they can settle it to a handsome amount and fill their pockets. Somebody should take an action against them.
