Uncovered manholes in Sarita Vihar, New Delhi

This mail is to report an unfortunate accident that took place on Saturday 24th July. My 72 year old mother-in-law Ms. Promila Khurana fell into the uncovered manhole that is just next to the entrance of the L shaped park between H & J block in Sarita Vihar. As a resultant, she has 3 broken ribs apart from all the cuts and bruises and the trauma that she is undergoing.

Now who is responsible for the mishap? Does the MCD / Delhi government realize what the citizens are going through due to their callous attitude towards the basic infrastructure of the city?

Two questions:

1. What action would be taken by the MCD to avoid a similar situation with somebody else?

2. How would the government compensate for the mishap?
