Harassment towards police verification

I am a physically handicapped person under Section 80U of Income Tax Act and a resident under Baranagar Police Station of North 24 Parganas and a resident of 87/51 A.K. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata 700090. I have applied for passport under receipt Nos. File No. A085695, A079199 and F019195 (for myself, my wife and my minor daughter). After a month, I was asked by Baranagar P.S. to attend them with all documents of myself, my wife and daughter. However, they have gone through and allotted a IP No. 36038. After about 10 days from that date, my wife was asked to go to the above P.S. and unneccesarily detained and asked to submit electric bill, father's death certificate and deed of her parental house etc. I do not know the purpose of such harassment when she already submitted xerox copies of Voters Card, Pan Card, ration card, bank statment, academic qualification etc. I have never heard from any friend/relative of mine such way of requirement. Now again, my minor daughter may again be asked to submit such documents in near future.
