Passport Renewal Delay
Delay at RPO Hyderabad to renew my passport

I applied for renewal of my passport on Jan 11 (My passport

number is B0397139). I am a scientist.

· Police enquiry for my passport was done over 5 weeks ago.

· I need to travel to Sweden urgently- I work on certain critical

scientific projects and have to meet my collaborators at Stockholm.

· I have to travel along with my wife

· My wife, (File reference number is HYD-H001293),

also applied for the passport on Jan 11. Police enquiry for her

application was done over 6 weeks ago.

· We both are post graduates or above and exempt from ECNR. We

mentioned the same.

· We also requested to incorporate the spouse’s name in the passport

· The passport status in the official website indicates ‘Police

Report has not been received”, though the person who made the police enquiry

said that they sent the reports quite a while ago.

Would you be so kind to expedite the process of dispatching my passport? I

need to have my passport rather urgently.

I could not apply for the passport on Tatkal basis though I visited the

passport office about 15 times, each time standing in the queue for more

than 7 hours. I have a medical condition that prevented me from coming and

standing in the queue one day before as suggested by many- I used to come to

stand in the queue only at 7 AM or so. Also I have a laboratory and

research students to take care. A few brokers approached me but my

conscience did not permit me to get my application processed through them.

It was probably a mistake that I did not apply for the passport through

Indian embassy at Chicago, USA. I practically had to cancel all my foreign

travel because the passport is blocked. Finally, I realized that they allow

renewal applications of passports with valid visa’s only at the e-seva

office Nallakunta and I applied through that facility. It is over 90 days and there is no sight of my passport. Please hep.
