Status of Fresh Passport Unknown, Need Help

Respected Sir/madam,

My name is Dhanalaxmi Nannapuraju, I applied for fresh passport on 03/09, File No- BN2061275748210 and DOB - 15-05-1982. Track status is showing that it is pending for Police verification. But, when I contacted my nearby police staton (Mahadevapura and White filed as well), I was told, my file is not with them. So kindly let me know the status of my passport and when this process would complete, because I need to submit my passport for further process.
