Bad service from Apollo Movers & Packers, Bangalore. I shifted to Cochin from Bangalore on September 5. The goods took over two days to reach Cochin, a distance of about 450 km. Apollo switched my goods to a different, larger truck belonging to one of their agents without my knowledge, and did not inform me. The driver of the agent's truck did not even know the way properly and claimed that he had been delayed at the Kerala border check-post.
The truth, as the truck driver himself told me, is that he was bundling my goods along with some other consignments and was delivering them on the way. This resulted in delivery of my goods being delayed by well over two days. Their truck was too large to enter the approach road to my house and I had to rent another smaller vehicle to transfer the goods to my new residence, incurring additional expenses in the process. On checking my goods, I found that some of them had been damaged/broken in transit -- three mirrors, two glasses, a TV stand and a computer table -- as they were handled roughly by Apollo's agents.
I requested Apollo Packers' manager in Bangalore to send somebody from their Cochin office to help me reassemble my furniture which they had dismantled while packing. The manager promised to send somebody to help me with the furniture installation (which the packer is supposed to do), but nobody turned up. I request the Consumer Forum to take note of the callous and unprofessional conduct of Apollo Packers & Movers. I would take this opportunity to warn customers to not engage Apollo's services and entrust their valuable goods in their unsafe hands.
