The real estate agents in Mumbai are just goons. This is open loot with no one listening to the hue & cry of a normal citizen. All so called leaders have put a blind eye to this menace. The whole system of brokerage for 1 month- 2 month's rent (that too both sides - the owner as well as tenant) is just an open loot. And the broker would charge that every year, even if you stay in the same house!!! Ridiculous ..Frustating, that an individual cant do anything but give-in to this, cos there are no market forces. They have all formed a union and they just charge what they want. There is absolutely no regulation, no control from the government side. Are we all helpless or can we do something about this? Does the government care to put a stop to this menace?
