Subject: Society Maintenance for Shops.
I am Salim from Pune, presently working in Doha-Qatar.
I am the owner of a small shop of 250 Sq. Ft. in Pune. There are all together 47 shops and 250 flats in this society. All these shops are on the ground floor outside of the society and none of the shop has excess to enter the building, plus we are not authorized to use any of the facilities like swimming pool, club house, etc. in this society. Society has all 2 bhk flats of more than 1100 sq. ft.
Shop owner has Boring water connection and not corporation, for which we are paying yearly corporation tax of Rs. 10000/-.
Now society has decided to pay society maintenance of Rs. 500/- per month for the shop owner and Rs. 600/- for flat owners. Flat owners are using all the facilities, plus lift and parking, and they have generator back-up facilities only for the flat owners. Society says, if we don’t pay the maintenance on time, than we have to pay 18% interest.
The only facilities we are getting from the society is Sweeper clean the front area of the shop and common lights in front of the shops.
Is this the fair amount society is asking us to pay. Please advice us.
