Replacement for broken item awaited

I had placed order for a multi card reader, vide order ref no. IN2009114770 on IndiaPlaza.com, on 20 Sep 11. On receipt of the item on 30 Sep, the item was found to be broken into pieces. I didnot open the plastic cover and immediately called up call centre of IndiaPlaza, and susequently have spoken to them many times. Complaints have been written on their web-site too. Now they say that I have to courier the item back to them to get replacement. Regarding the expenditure incurred by me on courier, they would provide me shopping voucer, and cannot refund my money to me as such. That means I am again bound to shop from them! Despite repeated phone calls, neither are they agreeing to get the damaged item picked up by their courier, nor are they agreeing to reiburse the expenditute I'll have to incur on couriering the damaged item back to them. On the web, I have read many stories that even after sending the broken item, they don't send replacement item in time. This is considered as harassment just because the company is in such a position that I canot confront them directly, one to one.
Such unethical behaviour would discourage customers from e-shopping.
In any case, this is highly unethical on part of the company.
I would never ever like to shop through such a portal.
