Opened/Used SIM Card Sold

Dear Sir/Madam

I bought a SIM Card from one of your outlets in Manjadi, Tiruvalla, Kerala, at about 1030 hours on 18th February. The mobile number is 9526012307. I do not remember the SIM Card Number as the cover was left behind in the shop itself, thinking that there might not be any cause for any reference of the same at a later stage.

When I received an unexpected message from an unexpected and unknown mobile number I started checking the details of the SIM card and found that the SIM card given to me was activated on 31.01.2011. I do not know who was using the SIM card between 31.01.1011 and 18.02.2011. There can be many facts behind the selling of this used SIM card to me and I am much concerned about it.

You are kindly aware that SIM cards have been used by ani-social and anti national elements in the past. I do not know who used this SIM Card. Perhaps it might have been only be for the purpose using the free minutes offer of the IDEA, which I do not know. I am not much concerned about the unavailability of the free minutes but about other comlications that might entangle me with for using a used SIM card. First of all, may I state, the purpose of sending this comunication is to make you aware that I started using this SIM card only from 18th Feb when I topped it up with Rs. 500/- which gave me Rs.506 worth call time and also that I am not responsible for any communications/usage between this mobile number and any other mode of communication before I first put money into the above mobile number account.

I believe that this sort of illegal activities are not allowed by your company. If so, such activities having a trace of criminality should be stopped at the earliest.

I believe that you will look into the matter and do the needfull to upkeep the good reputation IDEA has been maintaining since the beginning.
