APPALLINGLY SLOW "3G" internet and UNWANTED SPAM EVERY DAY!

We purchased a service from Airtel advertised as 3G!!! Yet the service is ALWAYS on EDGE, NOT 3G AS ADVERTISED, and the speed we have is little better than dialup and it is painfully, horribly slow. We have been sold a grossly inferior product and this company should be ashamed of misleading people in this way. Unless we see a vast improvement during our stay in India we will never, ever, ever recommend this company to anyone who lives in or travels to India.

I am also receiving spam from an Ayuverdic clinic and doctors of dubious validity EVERY DAY!! Every day they feel they have the right to annoy me with their UNWANTED spam, and this started after my purchase of an Airtel sim card. When I write a reply to the message, there is no number to reply to, so there is no way to reply other than to contact the companies by spending money on a call!! Well who wins there!!

This is extremely poor practice, and shameful to be getting away with this. Indians reading this, appeal to your governments to put a body in place to deal with this sort of thing, so companies are not allowed to mislead people with services they cannot provide or are just plain not providing, and for when they feel it is their right to give your details to others so you can be pestered daily with their spam.
