Hi,

I have 2 services with Airtel. Service # 9004585773 & 9967307421.

I make my payments for both the numbers through ebilling.

For the # 9967 307 421 I made a payment through ebilling on 05/01 for Rs. 450/-, 5th happens to be the bill cycle date, before making a payment I sent an SMS to 121 for the bill amount, I got a return SMs for rthe amount of Rs. 430/-, i was not informed that this was the unbilled amount and the actual bill would be generated the next day as 5th is the bill cycle date. On 25/01 I got an SMS from Airtel informing me that Rs. 142/- was still outstanding on the bill, I was suprised as I had already made a payment on the account. So I called customer service on 121 for clarification on the same, the call was connected to Rupesh Customer Service Rep, he could not given an explanation but could not converse in english also, all he said was that it was rental charges, when i informed him that rental is taken in advance so how could it be generated after the bill was paid. So I asked for a supervisor, my call was placed on hold without being informed of the hold time, after staying on hold for 8 mins the call was disconnected. I did not get a call back.

So I visited the airtel gallery for a clarafication on the same, I visited the gallery at Charat Singh Colony, Andheri - Kurla Road, Chakala, Andheri East. After waiting for 15 mins, I met the store Rep Gulzar Sayyed, I asked her for an explaination about the bill, I pointed out to her that not only do I make my payments before time I also make extra payments more than my bill an excess of almost Rs. 20 to 50/-, she stated that it does not refelect anywhere on the systems that payments were made in excess of the bill amount. She could not give a valid explaination she kept stating that the charges was for SMS sent, I pointed out to the fact that on the current tarrif that I am I do get free SMS. She then got a call on her personal phone which she was busy attending to, when I pointed out to her that I was waiting to get my issue sorted out she raised her voice and started shouting that she was attending to a call from airtel, so I asked for a store manager it took almost 20 minutes for the store manager to addend to my query. The store manager admitted to the fact that payments were excess than the bill amount.

While I was waiting for the store manager, I called the nodal officer, My call was connected to Satya, I explained to him why I called. He informed me that he could not access the account as the systems were down and I would need to call back in 4hrs, he did not even offer a call back when I pointed this out to him he stated that he could not make out calls and if I was looking for a solution then I would need to call back. So i stated that if this was the attitude of not only of the customer service reps but as well as a nodal officer then I would be happy to move to an other service provider, so he stated that if I was looking to port out my number then why did I call for a resolution.

Well if this is Customer Service then I have not else to say...
