SIM CARD IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY FOR TWO DAYS

I Purchased a SIM Card on 02.12.2006 (AIRTEL - Prepaid) and I lost the same in the month of July (approximately). Now recently I purchased a Sony Ericson mobile and Inserted the same SIM, but the SIM is not working properly even though I confirmed with the showroom which the mobile I have purchased from. Some time in the mobile displays the 'Searching' instead of "AIRTEL and Emergency calls only" instead of AIRTEL. I tried from my land line, when I called to my mobile there is a message listerning 'the mobile is switched off'. Please check it out the error occurring and rectify it as early as possible.
