Airtel prepaid deactivated and recycled

Hi,

I am using my Airtel no 9880789329 from last 7 years, I was on roaming and no was working till 10 days back, my connection got disconnected and I contacted with Airtel customer care by phone. They informed me that its been recycled, this no is very important to me, as it got registered with all my online banking and government records. If I need to change my mobile number with bank or any other govt records, I have to go there in person. I've talked to nodal officer as well. Please help airtel to get back my number ASAP.
