Need action on Airtel - Cancelled connection but still being billed

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Sahana. A.Earappa and I took a Airtel Broadband (Internet) connection in the year 2010 around May. I called the customer care and went in for a cancellation on 13th July as there was a lot of irregulaties in the bill even though I was not a frequent user. The cancellation number is 511108 and Interaction Number is 213963735 and executive name is Nalini. So I got a confirmation that the connection is cancelled.

After 2 days I got a call from another Airtel Executive saying that the bill which I had to pay for the month of June will be waived off as it was within the Rental Limit because of no usage and also asked me to keep the connection till Sep 2011 end and this 3 months i.e from July to Sep 2011 will be waived off too. They also told me that my rental will be waived off from Rs 650pm to Rs 350pm and again on the subsequent monthly bill there will be a discount of 20%. The executive from Airtel asked me to pay only Rs 280 after Sep 2011 month. I was however adament about my cancellation and they asked me to think over it and cut the call.

Since I had told them very clearly that I want to go in for cancellation and also got a cancellation number, they never cancelled it and did not send any person to collect the modem.

Later almost a month had passed I started receiving calls from the collection guys, I get about 4-5 calls a day and I start explaing the same again and again and told them to take back the connection.

Everytime there is a new executive calling and I need to repeat the same answer. They do not maintain a call log.

They are threating on the call regarding the payment of Rs1, 800 and still have not cancelled my connection. When I explained the same to one of the executive they asked me to make the payment and then they would cancell the connection. They are forcing me to pay Rs1, 800.

Then 7th of Sept I got a msg to my Airtel Mobile Number say that "Your service request reference number for the phone number (Internet) is 3655024. That is they have cancelled on my behalf on 7th Sep 2011 from my mobile number itself. I got a self msg from my mobile number itself. Again the message say's that they will get back to me only on 08th of Oct and they say its a autogenerated message.

This is increasing my Internet Bill for no fault of mine even though I am not using it and went for a cancellation in July. Again the bill will increase to Rs1, 800 650.

The company is cheating me and I need justice. Airtel Broadband is cheating me and I am fed up of their harrasment over the telephone and messages. I want someone to take action on this company.

Please help me out.
