I activated international roaming on my airtel sim before flying to Mauritius. While activating the international roaming facility, I requested them to provide me the billing rates for Mauritius. I have advised to visit the airtel website for the same.

While I checked the rates: Call back to India using Emtel (Local Network - Mauritius) was at Rs 34.49/34.99 per minute. With these rates in mind, I made few calls to India. On the second day of my arrival, I received an sms saying the outstanding was Rs 18000 plus. I was shocked and when I went through my mobile log..the billed amount and usage didnt add up. On my return to India, I requested

Airtel to provide me the details, which they immediately denied. I was asked to wait till the billing cycle would be over... which was 27 days away..However they wanted me to pay Rs 18000 immediately ..without providing me the details of my usage... 2 days later my outgoing was barred and few days later the connection was suspended..without any prior intimation... all this happen while the monthly bill was yet to be generated and I had paid all my previous bill... Finally when I received the bill, I was shocked to seethe per minute charges applied were close to Rs 115 against the Rs 34.49 displayed on the website... Airtel cheated me... I immediately wrote to airtel to explain and they have been sleeping over the matter ever since... Its been 15 days and no response and now I am constantly being harrased by Airtel's Collection agents to pay the outstanding amount..
