Mobile porting

I had made an request to port my existing Airtel mobile no to Vodafone as i was getting cheaper call rates with cheaper monthly plan in post paid connection... i summited all my ID to Vodafone and got the sim card from them and waited for for more than 7days but my mobile no 9582217198 didn't changed and i got sms from vodafone stating "hello! your porting request AD852124 dated05dec11 has been rejected by your current operator due to there are subsisting contractual obligation from the subscriber agreement"... i remember it very well that i didn't sign any such document apart from Airtel forms when i ported my no from Vodafone to Airtel almost a year ago... so kindly put a light whats going on and what are my legal options to resolve this issue if not addressed..
