Undue harrassment to everyone

This number 9880697697 was supposed to be cancelled one month back as per my request to Airtel but it was never done. I have been hearing stories from the customer service saying that it would be done within 7 days which never happened. No one told me that the bill is due on this number which i would have paid as i have always done for the past 3 years. Upon that some people from airtel start calling numbers from the bill and disturb my friends for the bill amount. My question is why was the request not processed as promised? Why would airtel call people from the bill and unnecessarily Harass them? I need an explanation to this and need the number to be cancelled ASAP.
