I purchased AIRTEL mobile SIM with No. 9996741438 from the AIRTEL STALL at Sector 7 KURUKSHETRA on 10.01.2010 after providing ID as my Bank's Identity Card, A certificate from the Bank (My employer) as my adress proof. But my mobile was not activated. After 5 days I enquired from the dealer the reason for non activation, who informed that my ID''s are not acceptable. I enquired why these ID's are not acceptable andwhat type of ID is required, the dealer himself was not aware. Ultimately I offered my Passport as ID proof the dealer said I will have to enquire if Passport is a valid ID or not. After cosulting the higherups he accepted passport as ID on 15.01.2010 but my still my sim has not been activated. It is surprising that Passport is accepted as ID all over the world but is not a valid ID for Airtel emloyees. I suggest that Airtel must employ expert staff for this purpose and not employees who are tarnishing the reputation of the commpany because of having no knowledge. I will request the Airtel people to advise their dealer to refund my money and deliver my IDs at my residence because I have visited his shop seven times and now donot want to talk to that fellow, morover BSNL has already issued SIM on these IDs.
