Hotel Kapital - Shimla
Rude behaviour and false commitments by the Proprietor of the hotel

Please do not approach Kapital for any bookings... They are lairs and the way of talking was very rude with there words. They threatened us that they will through us from the hotel. And they charged extremely high room tariffs from us for extreme low grade of services.

We went to Shimla in the month of May'11 and in order to get ourselves booked in hotel we took help from one of our friend. The proprietor of the hotel, Shalu Chhabra being a known person to my friend showed him the best deluxe rooms of the hotel and quoted rate of 5500 INR, and gave it to us at 2500 INR stating that since you are known to us I will give you the rooms at discounted price. When we reached to the hotel we got to know:-

1) They dont have rooms (as promised) available with them as they gave it to someone else at higher prices

2) After having a good argument, they gave us standard room instead of deluxe room and told us that this was the room which was agreed

3) Shalu threatened us by saying that if you don't want to stay here then you can leave we will not refund the advance of 5000 INR taken from us. We had no choice but to stay in the kind of rooms they have pushed on us but this was not it. They tried all there ways that we should leave from there. They scared us at night by knocking on the door serveral times, whenever we opened the door we found no one out there. Then they turned off our lights and water connection.

At the end we were left with no option but to release the room on very next morning. Moreover, when we went to her in the morning she said that it was a favour she did on us by giving the room. Otherwise they don't entertain people of our class. And they would have charged 7500 INR for giving us space.

This is a sincere suggestion to all that please don't book this hotel in Shimla.
