Non refund of money

I booked a tour package from M/s Icon tours & travels in 2008 for Goa for Rs. 31, 000/- but due to some personal reasons I had to cancelled the tour. When I approached the staff of the travel agen I was told that Rs. 7000/- will be deducted & balance Rs. 24, 000/- will be refunded to me. I agreed & informed the travel agen to make the refund. Ther after I whenever I called the staff persons nobody picked my phone & after consistently following up, ther is no response. Then I approached to find out the owner of that company who assured me of the refund but later on avoided my calls. I have got the complete back up of email corerspondence. After follo up for more than a year I got a cheque of Rs. 24, 000/- which was bounced back. finally in Dec I got Rs. 10, 000/- & still waiting for the balance Rs. 14000/-.

My suggestion to all the readres to always check the credibility of the travel agent before proceeding with any booking & rather book for the branded travel agents like yatra, makemytrip etc.
