Wrong hotel booking

I booked the hotel from Make My Trip through phone and the executive Paras booked my hotel for Mahabaleshwar. When I tried to confirm the booking from Hotel, they said that they are completely sold off and MMT can't give you the confirmation number. When I got back to MMT they insisted that booking holds good, but I insisted and asked them to check with the hotel, then they got back and confirmed that yes, its a wrong booking from their side.

Now, the question is... how can they book hotels when they do not know about the availability. If I or in that matter anyone reaches hotel on the said date and finds that his/her room is not booked then it will be a great shock and where will he go with the family.

I asked them to give me another booking, they asked me to wait for 24hrs. This is ridiculous.

Bad experience with these people. Will never suggest anyone to get the booking done from them of any type, because it will be a great risk for your travel plan (flight, hotel, taxis etc.)

I thus request the concerned authorities to look into and get my complete dues over and above the actual cost incurred because of the problem i faced
