Telephonic push sells

A person from makemytrip called and requested me to buy a travel voucher worth 4500/- that can be redeemed for 7500/- in any of their partner hotels. I fell for the trap, bought the voucher and on receiving it learnt that the fineprints are too many and the caller had never bothered to explain them. they included for example a forbidden period (25th dec to 25th jan, the most preferred holiday season), a one month notice and certain excluded places.

Moreover, when I scheduled a trip and let them know, checked with the hotel to make sure that they have vacancies on the dates I have chosen, makemytrip flatly refused to arrange the trip saying that I have given them 22 days notice instead of 30 days. When I told them that they never explained the 30 day clause to me, they made me write several emails, could not produce a recording of the call they made and then just stopped returning emails.

Through this forum I hope to give them as much negative publicity as I can. Their trade practises are unfair, fradulent and unethical. They do not record calls while selling stuff (allowing their employees to withhold vitalinformation about their products), their helpline is unhelpful and dumb and they have scant regard for customer concerns once the sale has been made.
