Very poor customer service and lowest quality set top box

Hi,

I have surrendered my DishTV set top box after keeping that junk piece for close to 1.5 months because of very poor customer service and equally pathetic service from the local dealer. The customer care executives are either incompetent or brainless; they don't understand your problem in the first place and when you ask them to connect to your senior, they don't do so. Most of the times I got replies that "for this problem you should contact your nearest dealer". The nearest dealer is a total fraud, he never picks up your call and make false promises of problem resolution.

After 15-20 days of installation, I started experiencing problems with my STB. After making several calls to the customer care and to the local dealer, I did not get my STB replaced for 10 days. Finally after the 10th day, I got it replaced with a very old and ugly looking STB by the local dealer. It worked fine for initial 2 days and then it stopped working with the error message "Unsubscribed channel/recharge your account". After this, my real ordeal started with the customer care and the dealer. I used to make around 10 calls in a day to the customer care and atleast 20 calls in a day to the local dealer. The customer care executives had no clue about the problem and would say to contact the local dealer. The local dealer, to my surprise, will never pick up my call. Even when the local dealer picked up my call, he would make false promise of getting my problem resolved in 2 hours or 4 hours or same day or next day, but that never happened. The obvious reasons - shortage of staff, address not located, traffic jams and the technician could not reach your place, tried calling you but your cell not reachable and all the crap which you can imagine under this sun. To my horror, the replaced STB by the dealer had an old VC card which was deactivated and was of some other customer and had the validity left for just 2 days. My DishTv services were not working for the continuous 6 days because of the negligence on the part of the dealer and the carelessness of the customer care. The dealer repeatedly promised to me to get my original STB in 3 days after repair and my original VC card in the replaced STB in one day, but till date that didn't happen. So finally, after going through so much of pain, frustration and mental disturbance, I decided to surrender my STB to the local dealer and do away with the poor services of DishTV.

I strongly recommend strict and stern action against the local dealer who paid no heed to my complaints and showed a very callous attitude.
