Non availability of service

I received numerous calls from the number 040-40672899, where the caller introduced herself as an agent from Airtel Digital TV. She offered installation of Airtel Digital TV by paying an amount of Rs. 999/-. I verified on the airtel website that they are offering the DTN connection for Rs. 999/-. On 25-Nov, 5 pm, I made the payment of Rs. 1199 (Rs 999 for Set top box and Rs 200 as deposit) through my credit card via IVR. The agent promised that the installation will be done within 48 hours.

Till 27th Nov, 3 pm, I have not received any call for installation, no SMS / email confirming my payment. When I called airtel customer care, they noted the details and said they will get back. I have yet to hear from them.

I suspect that it was a fraud call. I checked with my credit card company, they said that the payment has been authorised with the merchant name as "Cable/Satellite TV".

I do not know, what to do now. Shall I register a complaint with police?
