Denial of apllication for health insurance

Dear sir,

My wife's health insurance application, with icici prudential (ICICI health saver), has been rejected because i declared that she had an atrial septal defect, which was corrected by surgery 5 yrs ago (she is in normal health now).

Is this an valid reason for rejecting the application. what should i do now?
