I, Satya Prakash, Sr Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF was posted in Firozpur Division in Firozpur, Punjab in March. An excess recovery of 3923 was done at source out of the total tax paid 30503 for the year 09.I was transferred to Southern railway HQ in Chennai in May where I filed the return. My PAN No is ALRPP4752G. I have tried to contact the ITO in Chennai for the recovery but they always shift the buck on the Firozpur ITO.The firozpur ITO told me that the recovery will be done by Chennai ITO.

Now I am In the United Nations Peacekeeping mission in Sudan since May for a year. My excess recovery has been delayed a lot. Pl advise me the proper course of action. Thanks. My email ID is satya2004prakash@yahoo.co.in
