This is to inform that LIC hired Agent in Branch 92F, Mr. Vilas Ballapurkar (Agency Code # 0213592F) was given my Insurance Policy of Rs.10 lacs in the month of April. First cheque was taken by him in the name of LIC of India. This Policy bearing No. 924694731 was on quarterly instalment basis. After making 1st premium payment, he gave me Original Policy copy in the month of July-August.

He later took 2nd instalment premium cheque from me on 6th july and then 3rd instalment premium cheque on 5th November. Both the payment he asked in the form of bearer cheque which I gave him. He said he has some dealing in LIC, 92F branch, wherein he have to show the bearer cheque. Moreoever since I know him personally, it was on mutual trust. Till the 3rd instalment, he did not give me the receipt of 2nd instalment also. Upon asking, he said the receipts for 2nd and 3rd instalment will be given at a time. Everyday I called him for receipts but somehow he use to give me one or the other excuses blaming LIC's working pattern. Later thru. other Branch, I could find out that he has not made my policy payment after the first instalment in april. Later I got 2 Premium Reminder Letters also from LIC saying that the June and October instalment is overdue and a penalty/interest of Rs.490/- has to be paid by me.

I could know from this letter that your Agent, Mr. Vilas Ballapurkar has used my money Rs.24250/- since July onwards for his personal benefit and I am being held as a Defaulter by LIC, though I paid by bearer cheques. He was denying to this fact but somehow I could manage to get back my money from him after great efforts. He gave me in return bearer cheques but when went for encashing the same, I could know that he does not have balance in his ICICI Bank Account too. This I feel is a crime and I could have taken legal action against such crime.

My approach to LIC is that the relevant Divisional Officer of the all the Branches must investigate people before hiring them as an Agent. I am educated enough to handle this matter properly but what about people who are illiterate and cannot judge such type of cheaters???

He used my money for more than 6 months and then returned without interest, without my policy continuation. My said Policy is now cancelled and I could not get any interest also for such long time misuse of my money.

My humble request to LIC is to keep Goodwill of the Corporation by not hiring such Agent.

This is just for information to LIC of India, so that such things does'nt happen with general public.
