Cancelation of Insurance without any information

I got my car insured through Maruti Naraina on 14-2. The policy was effective from 22.02.2009 to 21.02.2010. The payment towards premium was made by cheque which was got encashed by Maruti in February itself. In February when I thought for renewal of policy on line, it was surprised to see that my policy is cancelled. I enquired the grounds of cancellation of policy from Maruti, they are unable to reply. On this type of attitude, no body should get the Insurance from Maruti. It is not known from which date this insurance is cancelled. It seems Maruti has no responsibility, but they are only making money.
