Cancellation of Policy within the free-look period

I have opted to cancel my policy on 11th Feb within the free look period (i.e within 15 days of receiving the policy document). I had submitted the policy document along with a written application in the regional office in Kolkata. I also have a copy of the application duly stamped by MNYL official.

But my request of policy cancellation has been rejected siting reason that it crossed the 15 days window as they received the request on 17th Feb and the free look window is over on 16th Feb.

I should not be responsible for the delay caused by the regional office to send the document to the MNYL head office.

Please help I urgently need the money.
