Denying to pay my bonus

I worked as an employee in Wave Crest for a little over an year during 17th May - 17 June. At the time of my employment, the company had promised me a lot of things which they failed to provide eventually. Since I haven't received anything written, I couldn't take any action against that and waited for the things to get settled down. Now after around 9 months of my joining, the company's Sr. VP mailed the entire organization about the appraisals and bonus which they were planning to finish off by the end of March and once again the company failed to show its responsibility on that too. So, later after a couple weeks, I received my salary (with a huge delay of course) hike but not bonus which I was supposed to receive along with my appraised pay. After a few more weeks of wait, I left the organization for good and now they're refusing to pay me my bonus. I made a thousand calls and even wrote to the founder of the organization for which they responded after two months after my relieve. Bottom line is, they're not paying me the bonus as the rules have been changed after I left the organization. But neither those papers were presented to me at the time of my releiving nor I signed on my full and final settlement papers. I have decided to proceed legally 'cos the response from my organization (including the higher officials) is not proper. I have all the mails documented. What else would be required for me to provide? Please help!
