We contacted Arun Sathya Packers and Movers through Sulekha ads for shifting a TV and a bicycle to Ettumanoor, Kottayam (Kerala) from Nanganallur, Chennai. They were very prompt to come and give us the quote but that is the only time they have been prompt.

We called them 3 days in advance to do the house shifting. He spoke to me as if he was ready to come over and start the packing at our convenience even if that means starting at 6 am in the morning. We asked him to come over by 9am and could finish by lunch. No one turned up until 10am and when we called a lady picked up totally ignorant about our request giving an excuse that he had to go to resolve some issue at the Bangalore check post in a hurry and that is the reason for the delay but she would send the guys in an hour. We thought it happens especially in the packing and moving industry. In the meanwhile she said he is on the way back to Chennai and would reach in an hour. However he could reach only at 4pm to my place to load the stuff.

He charged us Rs.1500 for insurance and promised to deliver the papers the subsequent day, promised to deliver the TV and bicycle to Kottayam within 3 days. We have not received the TV and bicylce nor have we received any insurance papers.

Subsequently after 3 days we called up to find abt the consignment to Kottayam he said it was on the way and would be delivered within that evening, we called the subsequent day he said thr was a delay as it was part load to Kottayam and so would reach that day, we asked him abt the insurance papers he said he would deliver it the next day. The next few days when we try to contact him he is not picking up the mobile on any of the 3 numbers he had given us earlier.

It has been 15 days since we had sent the parcel we have not received the goods nor have we received any insurance papers and he is not receiving any calls. Accidentally when he picked up one of our calls yesterday he is asking whether we have not yet received the items proving he has no track of the goods, and promised to call back and update it has been a day and we have no calls so when we called back a lady picks up and says do not call and disturb your goods will reach. All that we want to know is when it will reach which is a usual worry of anyone shipping goods and how can they consider it a disturbance if they are not able to provide the correct status.

Thus I have almost lost one mobile a TV and a bicycle Rs.2500 on transportation and Rs.1500 in the name of insurance and at the moment have no hopes of getting my consignment delivered intact to Kottayam.
