Check the work to be done beforehand

This is regarding Balaji Motors, Aundh (Tata Authorised service center). I had experience of 3-4 services at this service station. If your car has clocked above 25000 - 30000 kms & is beyond warranty ; check 3-4 times the estimate of the parts & necessisty of doing that work before proceeding. The service engineer tells you to the necessity of many things which is ideally not required. Once the parts are opened he compels you to change the parts to new. Every time the total cost goes ~ 10000 - 15000 which could be easily contolled ~ 6000.

e.g. alternator serviceing - Once opened, he will tell you to change all the parts & the bill will be ~ 9000. In my case he changed everything except alternator casing.

For a small work of gear shift lever spring replacement ; he complelled me to change the entire clutch assembly (clutch plate, pressure plate, release bearings, oil seals ... ) saying that once opened it is better as the vehicle has clocked ~ 60000 kms. & the entire bill goes to ~ 11000.

I had spent ~ 35000 in last 6-7 months at this garage for small work.

Hence I request you to check the necessity of the work at other garages also before proceeding this guy to work upon.
