My name is J Clifford Samuel. I am doing graduation at Loyola College Chennai. This incident happened in Chetpet Metro Rail Station, ticket counter number 1 at 6 PM on 3rd May. I was about to take two return tickets to Nungambakkam station so i stood in the queue. I watched the supervisor at the ticket counter arguing with a person in front of me in the queue. I came to know that the person had only 10 Ruppees note and requested for 4 Ruppees ticket. Because of this the supervisor illtreated the person with local language. I was getting late so i helped him voluntarily by giving two 5 Ruppee coins. This act of mine was disliked by the supervisor as he had bad intentions in his mind. He showed his anger towards me. I asked for two return tickets to Nungambakkam station. The total ticket cost is Rs 16. So i gave him 20 Ruppees note and asked for 4 Ruppees. Since he was angry with me he asked to give me Rs 6 as change. He also said he dont have change but i could actually see a lot of coins infront of him. I also pointed out that to him. But he was adamant about what he said and told me to give the money or get out of that place. My friend watched the whole event. Even when i argued further he was stern in his words and told me to go away from that place in a rude insulting manner. I was very sad for being illtreated so badly by a public servant (who should work for the welfare of people) in front of many people and also for not issuing the ticket. But i did not leave that issue. I travelled with my friend without having ticket to Nungambakkam Railway Station (next station to Chetpet) in the intention to explain the issue to the TTE and to file a complaint against the Supervisor. I was walking towards the station office for that. When i met TTE i was accused travelling without ticket. I explained the whole event but he failed to accept the issue and also denied to provide information to proceed against the supervisor. But me and my friend unjustifiably were fined totally Rs 500 for travelling without ticket. I have the fine proof. Because of the supervisor my work on that day got delayed, spoiled and mentally it disturbed me a lot.
