Car starts but cuts off

Car starts but seems diesel is not flowing smothly. Try to do the pumping manualy by compressing the Rubber (Like Bus horn provide near the engine). For 3 - 5 Minutes and then start, it will start.

When we stop after reaching the destination, if return back to car within say 5 minuts it will start.

If we delay more than 2 - 3 hours it will start but cuts off.

When we repeat the above exercise, it will start.

What is the likely problem & how we should get it rectified?

Indicate time required and cost if any.

Till date, we had absolute no problem of any type.
