Indane Gas retailer M/s Kitchen Best
Non-supply even after one month of booking

My Consumer No is 2973 with M/s Kitchen Best, Chittaranjan - the retailer/agent of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. for INDANE gas. I booked the Gas on 28-12. I have enquired about the availability and delivery, over phone and over the counter, but the staff as well as the partner-proprietors are very much vituperative and uncourteous in their dealing. The following are the specific complaints:

1. Gas not supplied till today, i.e., 29-01 -- one month and one day.

2. They said there was non supply of gas from Indane depot, Durgapur for labour strike for 12 days. But the strike is over for a fortnight and 2/3 truckloads of gas is coming everyday but M/s Kitchen Best, taking advantage of this small incedent, is harassing the customers for undue gain.

3. They are asking to buy Commercial Cylinder at a hefty price'

4. They are showing artificial crisis as I am buying gas in small cylinders @ Rs 50 per kg from outside who are supplied regularly by some middlemen.

5. Whenever asked about the stock position, they say there were 6000 (six thousand) backlogs and sufficient supplies have not come and most of the time they say big cylinders (Commercial) have arrived.

6. Today (29-01) at about 4 p.m. they have asked me to bring the cylinder to their office/shop by tomorrow to take delivery at my own arrangement. They are taking the undue advantage of my impatient need. They have almost stopped home deliveryand forcing to take the delivery at customers' expense.

A speedy solution would be of great help.
