Due to Delay of train I missed my flight from New Delhi to USA

On 21st Jan, I boarded from kanpur on a train 2301, Calcutta - New Delhi Rajdhani. The Scheduled time was on kanpur at 4:45 AM but it came at 11 AM . It started at 11:30 AM from kanpur to delhi, usually it takes 5 hours from Kanpur to Delhi but on that day it took 14 Hrs to reach delhi and eventually I missed my flight from Delhi to USA . I had a conference which I could not attend due to this. The cost of ticket was 50, 000 Rs. Please do tell me what should I do now? I am a student doing my M.Tech. Is there any way to get compensation for this.
