Irregularities and Defeciencies

I, E.A.Kumar senior ctizen aged 67 years am a regular traveller on trains and have obseved a lot of defeciencies and irregularities which take place.
On train no 2685 Chennai Mangalore Superfast express I have observed that a lot of railway staff barge into second AC compatments and travel upto Katpadi almost every day and the TTEs who check the tickets of bonafide ticket holders do not bother to advise against unauthorised travel by railway employees. Similarly on 2601 Chennai mangalore mail this same unauthorised travel by railway staff in sleeper coaches causes a lot of inconvenience to reserved ticket travellers because the railway staff usually occupy upper berths in sleeper compartments and create nuisance by playing cards or talking and singing loudly.
THe quality of food and beverage supplied by railway catering is totally
sub standard and hopeless starting from Tea, coffee onwards. At chennai central previously there were booths selling freshly brewed coffee. These booths have completely disappeared and for a cup of filter coffee one has to dole out more than seventeen rupees for a cup whereeas in restaurants in the city it costs rupees ten onlyThe meals supplied by railway catering is insipid, tasteless and overpriced and it is the same monotonous menu every day. When the previous railway minister was in office an announcement was made that Janatha meals would be introduced but this plan has not come into effect though a long time has passed.
On 2602 mangalore chennai mail in first class when a booking is done the ticket shows that reservation is confirmed but no berth/seat number is printed on the ticket eventally at small stations a lot of confusion and anxiety takes place for bonafide reserved ticket travewllers to locate their accomadation.this nonnumbering of firstclass encourages the TTEs to make money illegally by alloting accomadation to desperate last minute rail travellers who have not reserved accomadation in advance.
