I had to travel from hyderabad to chennai on 05/05. i had booked my ticket via irctc one month prior on 06/04 an KCG CHENNAI EGMORE express; train no:17652

on the date of booking my ticket was waitlisted no.1, so i went ahead and booked the ticket. my pnr no. was 1349780812. the ticket status two days prior to departure and on the day departure was RAC but had to travel anyways.

when i boarded the train i realised that in my coach there were two other passengers travelling as RAC but their status on the date of their booking was WL 15 and 18. and they were also listed as RAC. i would like to know how railways can give RAC to WL 15, 18 no. passengers when WL 1 passenger is not confirmed.

If these people were not given rac i would have got a berth.
