Refusal to repair phone under warranty

To whomsoever it may concern,
I have bought blackberry 9780 from a dealer Alfa, vile parle, Mumbai on 8th April. My IMEI #:357174040284160. I regret to state that within less than a month of use my blackberry would go of on its own without manually doing so. Two days ago the display has gone (screen is half black half white) on approaching the service centre at sona villa, khar, the engineer there stated that this particular fault in the phone does not come under warranty (which is not acceptable by us). How can a reputed company like blackberry be so irresponsible towards its customers? The explanation given by the engineer at the service station was that "there must have been some kind of pressure on the cell phone." Let me make it clear that not once has the cell phone fallen nor was there any undue pressure put on it. If the exterior screen is not damaged or doesn't show any sign of pressure on it how can the inside screen get damaged. I would like a replacement for this faulty piece at the earliest as my phone is under warranty which is for 18 months. This complaint has been mailed to the concerned authority and still awaiting there reply.
