Terrible experience

I had purchased a N 70 about 2 months back.By accident, it fell into a pool of water. Last week, I took it to a Nokia Care center in Kolkata. Subsequently, after 2 days, while returning the handset, I was told that the set was not repaired for high costs. I am fully aware that as per the terms of Warranty, since the handset fell into water, the warranty has become void.

However, I would like to know if the set can be repaired at all if I am prepared to bear the repairing costs. For else, I would have to treat the set as a piece of junk.
