Faulty battery

My institution sunshine kids enterprises purchased a brand new exide battery for an inverter from turbo enterprises kharkhana road next to secunderabad club, secunderabad. last june i was shocked to find within a span of 1 year this july that the battery is completely spoilt, not recharhing and the shop keeper told me beyond repair, the only hitch is i have lost the warranty card and hence the shopkeeper is saying nothing can be done and forcing me to buy a new one. I cannot fathom how a worldwide multinational like exide insist on a small card for replacement when all the bills and the money has been paid to the above dealer. I request you to immediately replace the defective battery with a new one as the shopkeeper mr. hamza is giving me all cock and bull stories. where does an innocent consumer go? Hence please help and revert.
