Exchange offe

Electronics and household app.

This is to caution customers who wish to exchange their old appliances at e-zone. I purchased a new Whirlpool washing m/c at the Nirmal Lifestyles Mall, Mulund on 15th May. I was told that my old m/c would be exchanged for Rs. 750/-. After the purchase the new m/c was delivered and someone came to look at the old m/c and we were told that only Rs. 500/- would be paid since the m/c was not working. We were not asked about the working condition of the m/c when the exchange offer was made. Anyway, we made another trip to the store and were assured by Mr. Harshal that Rs. 750/- would be paid and the old m/c would be picked up. A few days later nothing happens and I called up the store and talked to Mr. Ganesh who called back and said that the vendor can give only Rs. 500/- and I agreed although I told him that this was not the proper thing to do. Anyway, even now (June 22nd) the old m/c has not been picked up. I am now convinced that the store management does not care about this episode anyway. It is true that the store nowhere on the receipt mentions about the exchange and therefore is legally quite alright. However, I wish to caution consumers that if they wish to exchange an old m/c at this store, they should be very careful.
