Reference: Invoice No. ORA090073960 dated 30/11, Order No. OGA090076833 dated 30/11
This has reference to telephonic order given by me to your representative for HTC P 3470 smart mobile phone. I acknowledge with thanks the receipt of only mobile phone yesterday. He promised me that in addition of mobile sets, following two free gifts as per scheme given to only three selected Indiatoday book club members on ALL INDIA BASIS will be given on order:
1. One SWATCH Watch worth Rs. 12, 000/- (MRP):
a) I was offered One SWATCH Watch worth Rs. 12, 000/- (MRP) but the watch received by me is having MRP of Rs. 6750/-. This is a CHEATING with esteemed members on part of India Today Bookclub.
b). Watch model no. mentioned on Invoice no. GFA090000578 dated 07/12 (order no. OFA090000391 dated 30/11) is SWATCH WATCH-405G whereas delivered watch has model no. SCUBA-200. This is also not acceptable as someone responsible of packing & delivery has done the mistake.
c). The wrist watch delivered to me is made of strong iron and has weight of more than 500 grams. It is disgusting. It cannot have a MRP tag of Rs. 12, 000/- by any means and appears that you have supplied CHINESE make wrist watches which are available in DELHI markent in a price band of Rs. 100-150/- only.
It is requested to replace the watch immediately.
2. Two nos BUSINESS CLASS return Air Tickets inclusive of all taxes with a validity of one year for any destination in INDIA.
Status: On checking the website with a unique ID code mentioned on invoice, it appears that your representative had given wrong picture and he gave false promise as website is mentioning a limit of Rs. 7000/- and is sielent of taxes etc.
Further, return air tickets are also not as per the promise made at the time of booking of order. As confirmed by your representative over telephone today, kindly re-play the VIDEO RECORDING of telephonic discussions held on 29/11 while booking the order and decide.
It is absolutely not acceptable to me that INDIATODAY BOOK CLUB is not honouring the commitment made to me at the time of booking the order. From the above, it can be concluded that India Today Book Club has now started cheating their members by i) giving false promises while doing telemarketing and ii) supplying sub-standard and wrong material. In case, you are not able to meet the commitments for reasons best known to you, please GOD's sake do not apprach your esteemed members/customers just for giving false promises. Please look in to the matter otherwise there is no other option left except to approach the CONSUMER COURT.
