Selling products on an higher value than the original cost

We purchased a mobile handset of HTC Wildfire for Rs.12, 200 from Meher Communications, Shop No 4/1 Raj Plaza, Rajpur Road, Dehradun. We repeatedly asked if that was the latest handset and the shop keeper Mr. Paras kept insisting it is. We even asked him, If the wildfire S is a higher model, he replied NO. Later on, On the internet we found out that the latest handset was HTC wildfire S and the one we bought was for only Rs 10, 500.

The next day my husband went and spoke to him, but the shopkeeper in an agitated tone said that my husband was lying and as well as gave him an open challenge that he can't do anything about it.

My concern is not only the money that we lost, but as well as his rude misbehavior and his over confidence that the consumer has no power at all. I would request you to please look into the matter and give the consumer some power to exercise their rights.
