Phone hangs and loses network repeatedly

I bought a Nokia C6 phone on 26th April. The reception quality is very bad in the phone and it hangs atleast 10times in a day. I took it back to the retailer and he refused to replace it as he claims its a common problem in all Nokia C6 phones and replacing it wont solve the issue. Please suggest me as to what can be done.
