No service Centre faulty product manufactured

Hi..I have an Airtel FWP Landline, for which i had spent nearly Rs : 3000, The instrument Model Is: Avvio G200.." The battery of the Instrument is not working"..so i had gone to an Airtel office to get the battery replaced, However they say that the model is no longer available, so i askd about where i can buy the spare parts..they say that there is no service centre for the particular model & you need to buy a NEW instrument... I want to know if they Sell a product shouldnt they have a service centre... I f they dont have any how come they have a permission to manufacture & sell these kind of products... this is disgusting... just for a battery problem i have to buy a whole new instrument..
