The Arambagh Food Mart store at 1/429 Jodhpur Park, Kolkata opened this morning - 08/05 - without adequate supply of small change - apparently. For my purchase of moida at Rs 22/- they would not give me a change of Rs 8/- saying there were not enough coins and I could go back and get the Rs 2/- change or buy something extra. Pushed thus I bought a Rs 5/- pack of biscuits. As they proceeded to give me the Rs 3/- change I found they had enough coins with them, but had refused to give those saying they didn't have enough for the whole day!

This is typical of Indian retailers - they don't care too hoots about the customer knowing there is enough business around. And we have to suffer all the time because of this kind of inconsiderate behaviour. And the management couldn't care less as long as the cash registers are ringing.

Bring in the FDI in retail. We need them. Not these inconsiderate home grown upstarts.
