Stale cake delivered and no refund

I ordered a cake for my friend which was to be delivered on 16th Aug on her Hyderabad address. 17th Aug i received a confirmation that the cake was delivered on 16th. 17th Aug evening i get a call from my friend that the cake was delivered stale. they called up the number which was given on the cake box, it belonged to some other company! my friend tried to convince the person whose number was given on the cake box that the cake was delivered stale, but that person refused to accept that it was delivered from his company. i complained on their customer care email address and in reply to it they refused to refund the money and refused to accept that the cake was delivered stale. instead they are asking me to give them a proof that they delivered stale cake. they want to send them pictures of the cake. Those stupid people ask me whether the cake was consumed or not. Not only this they "suggest" me that i should have kept the cake safe to show as a proof that it was stale!! why would anybody do any of these things with a stale cake!??? They say without any proof they cannot help with the refund. Thieves they are.
